11 July 2014

Athens area kids will have a chance to learn from a group of former college and professional football stars. Former University of Georgia and NFL star Marcus Stroud returns to Athens to host a free Sports and Wellness Camp Saturday. Stroud is bringing several other former Georgia and NFL stars with him.
The camp focuses on health and wellness, while also enhancing life and football skills. Stroud says the camp is open to the first 200 participants on a first-come, first-serve basis for children ages 10-17. It is a non-contact camp, with participants grouped according to age, size and ability.
"Tomorrow I'm having my football and wellness camp up in Athens at the rec field starting from 9AM to 1PM...open from everybody ages 10 to 17 and it's going to be a camp focusing on football related activities, but it's going to be focusing on getting kids active with the premise of fighting childhood obesity," Stroud said.
