Former UGA Golfers Dominating PGA Tour
The top of the PGA Tour FedEx Cup Standings includes former University of Georgia golfers Bubba Watson, Harris English, and Chris Kirk.
Harris English is currently in third place with 1,048 points and is followed by Kirk (940) and Watson (914).
“There’s no doubt a great sense of pride knowing those guys are doing so well and not only representing themselves so well but also representing the golf program here and getting us some publicity,” Georgia men’s golf coach and director of golf Chris Haack said. “It’s a great sense of pride for us, but I’m sure also for the whole Bulldog Nation when they see that.”
Each player continues to be successful following their time as a Bulldog. Bubba Watson took the win Sunday at the Northern Trust Open in Los Angeles, his first gold since winning the Masters in 2012.
English continues to finish high in the rankings with five top-10 finishes this season, while Kirk earned a victory this season at The McGladrey Classic and also has a pair of top-10 finishes.
Each player is slated to compete in the 2014 Masters in Augusta coming up in April.
