Governor Deal at UGA Groundbreaking
A groundbreaking ceremony was held for a new multimillion dollar Science Learning Center at the University of Georgia Tuesday.
Governor Nathan Deal and University System of Georgia Chancellor Hank Huckaby among those joining UGA President Jere Morehead for the ceremonial groundbreaking yesterday.
The nearly $45 million center replaces classrooms built in the 1960’s.
Governor Deal says the building enhances the university and benefits students.
“A facility that will mean a lot to increasing the prestige of this university, of providing the kind of facilities that great young minds need to be great young professionals,” Deal said.
The 122,500 square foot facility is scheduled to open in fall 2016.
