Morehead Pushes for Raise in Faculty Wages

19 February 2014

ATHENS - University of Georgia President Jere Morehead says he has personally been making the case for merit pay raises to faculty who’ve not had a pay raise in nearly 6 years. Morehead says he will meet with state lawmakers next week to discuss a salary pool proposed by Governor Nathan Deal.

"So it's pending before the Senate, I'll be back over there on Tuesday, I believe, to continue to make the case to all of our representatives that this is really important," said Morehead.

Morehead says he will also discuss funding for a new Science Learning Center that would be built on the University's South Campus, near the school's Stegeman Coliseum.
