AADM Hosts 2nd Annual End School to Prison Pipeline Conference

The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement is holding the second annual End School to Prison Pipeline Conference this weekend.

The AADM launched the End School to Prison Pipeline in 2017 with a goal of promoting education, reducing juvenile incarceration and cutting dropout rates.

“It’s basically to bring awareness to the school to prison pipeline system and also to help people understand how to avoid, or what to do if your child ends up in a situation where they might be incarcerated. “

That’s according to organization co-founder and president Mokah Jasmine Johnson.

She says everyone is invited to attend the free conference.

“This year we’re going to cater to, not only the educators, but the families, and children as well.  So we have family activities lined up so everyone can come and enjoy, we have a few testimonies, two youth performances, we have Dr.[Demond] Means that is going to speak at the event and we have a few other guest speakers as well.”

The conference is Saturday from 9 am until 4 pm.

The event is being held at Rutland Academy on Oglethorpe Avenue in Athens.
