Area residents needing free legal assistance can attend a pop up legal clinic this weekend. It’s the 5th in a series of clinics in the Access to Justice Initiative. The mission of the event is to provide access to legal services and information for individuals in need of legal assistance who live in the community.
The pop-up clinics are the result of a partnership with the Western Circuit Superior Court Judges and Bar Association, along with the UGA Law School. Judge Regina Quick will hold the pop-up clinic Saturday from 9 am to 11 am, at Living Waters Christian Fellowship on Nellie B. Avenue in Athens.
Attorneys will provide brief individual consultations on topics including family law, probate law, employment law, criminal law, and landlord-tenant law.
Volunteers include judges from Superior, magistrate, and Municipal courts, staff from probate court and Georgia Legal Services, and faculty and students from UGA Law School.
Two additional pop-ups will be held on May 12 and June 16. For more information, call 706-310-3606.
