Noah James Saunders: Artist in Residence for May

Artist : Noah James Saunders

Note: this story celebrates one of the artists in WUGA's 5 year Artist in Residence series which concluded in 2019. In May, WUGA is celebrating the fine and distinctive work of Noah James Saunders, a sculptor who makes phenomenal three-dimensional wire portraits that cast shadows that seem to bring his figures to life. He also makes lovely jewelry from brass, copper and sterling silver. His work has been on display at OCAF’s juried shows, in New York, and at Aurum Studios and other fine galleries in the southeast and midwest.

People attending the Artists in Residence event, on May 19th, will see his home and studio, where he creates such splendid pieces.

The event, held rain or shine, is from 3 to 5 pm. Delicious hors d'oeuvres will be catered by Marti’s at Midday, and Uncommon Gourmet supplies lovely wine selections.

Admission is $10 for Friends of WUGA and $20 for nonmembers. Friends memberships are $30 or more annually. To make reservations and learn the address, contact Cathy Bradberry at 706-542-9842 or wuga@uga.edu.
