UGA Coach Joni Taylor on "Beyond Basketball" Outreach Program

The University of Georgia's Women’s basketball season begins in November, but that’s not stopping Coach Joni Taylor from reaching out to the community.

Coach Taylor is head coach of the UGA women’s basketball team. Even though she has a hectic schedule, the Maggie-Dixon Rookie Coach of the year she still finds time for another passion, her women’s group Beyond Basketball.

“Beyond Basketball is an initiative that we started in 2015 and it’s where like-minded women get together over breakfast once a month,” Taylor said. “It’s a time for us to network, and recharge our batteries and to try to make change in a positive way in the Clarke County and Oconee County community.”

The first meeting this year is Wednesday former UGA basketball and volleyball player, and ESPN analyst Maria Taylor is the guest speaker.

Beyond Basketball meets the second Wednesday each month from 8 to 9 am at the Downtown Athens Holiday Inn.
