The Good Read is a periodic series of interviews with Athens area authors or other Southern writers which airs occasionally from 4 - 4:30PM.

The program focuses on the wealth of literary talent that lives in the Athens area or visits the Classic City. A diverse array of authors spans all genres of literature, including fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Interviews on this live program include Georgia Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond, author of two African-American histories; novelist Terry Kay; children's author Carmen Agra Deedy; and mystery writers Beverly Connor and Judy and Takis Iakovou.

The program also draws heavily from the many authors affiliated with the University of Georgia, including novelist, essayist and poet Judith Ortiz Cofer, short story author James Everett Kibler, and non-fiction writers Ed Larson and Karen Ramey Burns
