On November 4, 2019, David Pollack, a former UGA Linebacker and current ESPN analyst, and his family presented a $50,000 check to the Athens-based nonprofit Extra Special People. The donation will support ESP’s proposed Miracle League complex in the Watkinsville area, which will provide accessible recreation to the Athens community.
Pollack's donation will be matched by an Atlanta-based foundation. The foundation has committed to match donations up to $130,000.
The Pollack Family Foundation was founded to raise awareness against childhood obesity by encouraging healthy choices. The Pollacks would like to see a nation of healthy families by embracing healthy living through eating well and physical activity.
“Sports have always been a big part of our lives, and we’re glad to see places like ESP doing big things that give people of all abilities the opportunity to experience movement and sports together. The mission of ESP is a natural fit for the Pollack Family Foundation,” David Pollack said. “We are so excited to see this project come together and grateful to be a small part.”
