Building a Greener Future

With the turn of the new year, the UGA College of Family and Consumer Sciences is offering some ideas to help build a greener future for the planet.

Associate Professor Pamela Turner says making large changes can be hard…and she’s suggesting small steps… stop buying bottled water, make a habit of keeping reusable shopping bags in your car so you never end up at a store without them, buy your family reusable straws with cleaning brushes, use cloth napkins and kitchen towels, bring cloth produce bags to the grocery store, eat at home or brownbag when you can, borrow or rent large items and tools you may not use very often, and swap clothes with friends or buy used clothing.
