CCSD Board of Ed Discuss School Pathways to Reopening

The Clarke County School District Board of Education met yesterday to discuss school policies and the pathway to full reopening.

During the meeting, Chief Academic Officer Brannon Gaskins discussed two pathways that could lead to a full reopening before the end of the year.

"One is from having our staff vaccinated. The other is a decrease in the pos. rate. So, as we wait on staff vaccinations, there's also an opportunity that our numbers will continue to decline, and if there is a positivity rate below five percent, we may also see a full, five-day return in that scenario."

Gaskins also said the school district is working on a plan to vaccinate staff members.
