USG Still in Search of New Chancellor After Executive Search Firm Quits

Parker Executive Search

The firm tasked with finding a new chancellor for the University System of Georgia quit this week.

The search for a new chancellor for Georgia's higher education system was put on pause this week when Parker Executive Search pulled out of the process. The firm quit amid "mounting questions about whether former Gov. Sonny Perdue will be tapped" for the job, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The position is one of the most powerful in state government, and the person who acquires this title will lead the system of 26 public colleges and universities.

Perdue has not officially commented on the chancellor search, but there are rumors surrounding his potential appointment.
