The mother of a 10-year-old who was killed in the Uvalde mass shooting has filed a lawsuit against Georgia-based gun manufacturer Daniel Defense, who made and sold the firearm used by the shooter.

The lawsuit was filed Monday by Everytown Law on behalf of Sandra Torres, mother of Eliahna Torres, who was one of 19 children fatally shot at Robb Elementary School on May 24.

The suit alleges the marketing tactics used by Daniel Defense targeted unstable young men with the use of “militaristic imagery” which suggests that customers use weapons to engage in combat missions.

The case names several additional defendants alleged to have enabled or exacerbated the shooting, including the gun store where the weapon was transferred to the shooter, the city of Uvalde, the school district and the Uvalde police Department.
