ACCPD Arrests Suspect in String of Thefts


The Athens-Clarke County Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a series of burglaries and thefts. Officers arrested a 17-year-old in connection a recent burglary on Northside Drive. On Tuesday, March 7, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Ruth Street. As a result of that search warrant, property stolen from the Northside Drive burglary was recovered.
Additionally, several other items stolen during several Burglaries and Entering Autos were recovered, including a firearm.
The 17-year old male was charged with Burglary-First Degree, Theft by Receiving, and Possession of a Pistol by a Person Under 18. The investigation is ongoing and police say additional charges are likely.
