Athens-Clarke County Government

The 2023 Athens-Clarke County Downtown Parade of Lights will make its way through downtown Athens tonight beginning at 7 p.m. The parade will start at the corner of Hancock Avenue and Pulaski Street and wrap up in front of City Hall for the tree lighting ceremony. Over 60 entries will compete for awards, including the “Mayor’s Award” for best overall float.

This year’s parade theme is “An Art Filled Holiday” and will be led by parade marshall and local metal artist Harold Rittenbery Jr. The Athens-Clarke County Downtown Parade of Lights is sponsored by the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government and the Athens Downtown Development Authority.
