Clarke County School District receives $100,000 grant to expand elementary math proficiency

Nicole Jordan

Clarke County School District received a $100,000 state grant to help elementary schoolers grow their mathematical skills.
The Numeracy Development Mathematics Grant is a part of a larger $3 million disbursement to school districts across Georgia.

The Georgia Department of Education administered the grant to help in expanding the department’s math learning resource Georgia Numeracy Project, or GNP. The resource provides professional learning for teachers and materials for students to enhance students’ comprehension of numbers. Clarke County has implemented GNP since 2021, but will now expand to all 14 elementary schools with the grant.
