Teachers, Parents, and Community Members Needed for Local School Governance Teams

Nicole Jordan

Schools in the Clarke County School District are looking for teachers, parents, and community members to apply for the Local School Governance Team.

The Clarke County School District is the state’s third-largest charter district. As a charter system, each school must have school-level governance to help with decision-making.

The Local School Governance Team is in charge of things like providing input on the school’s budget recommendations, participating in hiring the school’s principal, and reviewing the school's strategic plan.

Each governance team consists of 13 members: three parents, three instructional staff, three community members, two at-large, one student, and the principal.

Applications for parents/guardians, community members, and teachers close on April 10th, and elections will be held from April 15 to 19.
