More than 8,000 candidates for graduation will be celebrated at University of Georgia’s upcoming Spring Commencement ceremonies, with heavy traffic and potential road closures expected near Stegeman Coliseum and Carlton Street tomorrow, May 9, through Friday evening.
The spring graduate ceremony will be held in two sessions on Thursday, May 9, with the master's/specialist ceremony starting at 10 a.m. and the doctoral ceremony starting at 2 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum. The spring undergraduate ceremony will take place Friday, May 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Sanford Stadium.
Parking availability in all lots, particularly on South Campus, will be impacted as they open up for commencement guests and graduates. The Tate Center parking deck and the E12 lot will also be reserved for designated participants. Free parking is available in all other lots and decks on the UGA campus for displaced permit holders or visitors attending the ceremony.
