Athens's new hockey team has a name. With 8000 votes submitted by the community, Rock Lobsters is the winner, which beat out Classic City Panic by 565 votes. The name pays tribute to the B-52s who have given the team name their blessing.
The Rock Lobsters open their inaugural season in October and play in the Federal Prospects Hockey League, an 11-team alliance along the East Coast. They'll play their first home game in the new Classic Center Arena on Oct. 26.
