A sign at the Clarke County Elections Office advertises early voting.

If you wanted to take all of the early and absentee voters in the runoff election for a seat on the Clarke County Board of Education on a field trip, you probably wouldn't need more than two school buses.

At the end of the day on Friday, the last day of early voting, just 91 people had voted in the race for District 2 on the Clarke County Board of Education, which pits incumbent Claudia Butts against challenger Mary Bagby. Of those 91 voters, 67 voted early at two locations, the downtown elections office and the Miriam Moore Community Center. Another 24 voters voted by mail. Elections officials say that they sent out a total of 59 mail ballots.

In total, the district has over 7.000 registered voters.

Election day is tomorrow, and polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. To find your voting location or check your voter status, you can visit the Georgia Secretary of State's My Voter Page.

District 2 covers a large portion of East Athens, beginning on the eastern outskirts of downtown and running northeast to the county line.

In the May 21 local elections, Butts narrowly edged out Bagby, winning by just 20 votes, 319-229. A third candidate, Kirrena Gallagher, came in a close third with 275 votes.
