After the mass shooting in Winder last week, volunteers are working to collect handwritten notes for the grieving communities in Barrow County.
Barrow County teachers and students returned to school this week for the first time after last week’s mass shooting. Soon these teachers and students will be met with handwritten cards from an initiative that founder April Reed Crews calls Let Love Prevail.
People around Northeast Georgia are still welcome to participate.
Organizers of the initiative will welcome additional notes until Friday. Participants can drop off unsealed, handwritten letters at three locations: the Chick-fil-A at 97 Shepherd Ln in Bethlehem, Georgia, a stationary store called Love Letters at 62 North Broad Street in Winder, and the Bodyplex at 352 Exchange Boulevard in Bethlehem.
