ACC Government Offering New Round of Emergency Loans

After dispersing more than $550,000 to local small businesses and nonprofits during the first two rounds in 2020, the ACC Government’s Joint Development Authority with the city of Winterville is opening the application process for a third round of low-interest, emergency loans.

Commissioner Russell Edwards says the funds are for those who were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This distribution of aid to small businesses as a quick turnaround with the creation of this development authority, it gives the government added flexibility to support local businesses,” Edwards said. “So, I’m really happy we were able to collaborate with Winterville to put this program together.”

The $1 million emergency Turntable Revolving Loan Program is funded through the ACC Government's Mayor and Commission’s Resiliency Package.Funding is for businesses and organizations with up to 20 employees, that are physically located in Athens-Clarke County.

Loans range from $3,001 to $12,500.

The application process opens Monday, June 7  and the deadline to submit requests is Friday, June 18.
