ACC Schools Update COVID #'s Hourly

The Clarke County School District launched a new tool on Friday to provide more information about the spread of COVID-19 in the county’s schools.

The new COVID-19 dashboard launched by the district represents a big step forward in the amount and type of information district administrators are providing about COVID-19 in the schools. Previously, the district released data in week-long increments, and that data was released on Fridays. Now, the district says their data, including positive cases over both the last 14 days and the last 30 days, will be updated hourly.

The dashboard also lets users look at school-by-school data, and in addition to case numbers, the dashboard also shows the percentage of students and staff currently in quarantine.

As of this morning, the district says that they have seen 294 cases so far in August, including 143 confirmed cases in the past two weeks. That number sets a new record high for the year, well ahead of January, which had topped the year with 210 cases.

The district’s COVID-19 dashboard is accessible through the CCSD website at clakre.k12.ga.us.
