African Perspectives for April 18, 2021

This third episode in the month of April is our African news update edition. We feature a cascade of news updates from across the continent from South Africa through Chad and all the way to Egypt. The episode begins with some challenging updates with one of the COVID-19 vaccines and updates from the Presidential elections in Chad. The show also features the tough news of the death of Egypt’s activist, renowned writer, and physician, Nawal El Saadawi. In addition, other news updates on the show include the return by Mexico of stolen artifacts from Nigeria and the efforts of African language activists working hard via WikiAfrica to create space for African languages on the internet.
