This second episode in the final month of the year, December continues our extended commemoration of twenty-four years of the show on Athens Public Radio station, WUGA. The episode is the final instalment of our quarterly listeners’ appreciation show. We also continue our muted celebration of the show’s anniversary with music specials and fortnight African music CD giveaways. We are celebrating from November through December by offering African music CD giveaways for our listeners. On this episode we reiterated the three questions for the AP @ 24 African Music Giveaway Fortnight #3 competition for the ARC CD collection, The Pulse of Africa: Drums and Rhythms from Senegal, Ghana, Mali, Cono, Botswana, Nigeria and Mozambique. In addition, the episode features news updates from Uganda, where campaign violence is increasing and Ethiopia. As always, the episode featured selected enjoyable music from Africa and/or by Africans including selected tunes from the 2008 World Music Network collection titled African Street Party and 2008 Putumayo’s African Party collection.
