African Perspectives for February 7, 2021

This first episode in February begins our month-long commemoration of Black History month (BHM), the celebration of the achievements and survival of Africans in America.

The episode is the first of four shows recognizing the contributions of African Americans to American culture. In addition, the episode features news updates from South Africa, Central African Republic (CAR), and Libya. These include the death of Mr. Jonas Gwanga, the South African jazz icon and anti-apartheid activist at the age of 83. It also includes updates on the election results induced crisis in CAR and the ongoing Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.

The episode rounds up with announcements of some BHM events organized on the UGA campus.
