African Perspectives for March 7, 2021

This first episode in March begins our month-long celebration of the contributions of women in this society and across the World during the Women’s History Month (WHM).

The episode opens with the exciting news of the first COVID19 vaccination campaigns launched in Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana. It also features the announcement of the Annual African Studies Spring Lecture at the University of Georgia that took place on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 3.30pm and featured a lecture, “Rethinking Hierarchy: Perspective on Servant Leadership as a King and University President.” by UGA Alumnus, Dr. Daniel Wubah, President, Millersville University Pennsylvania and king Nana Ofosu Peko Bekoe III, Toapentenhene of Breman Traditional Area in Ghana.

Finally, in celebration of the International Women’s Day on March 8, the show features a short profile of Athens former mayor, Nancy Denson and a promise of a belated commemoration the following week.
