May 2 This first episode in the month of May is our second round of news updates from across the African continent from successful malaria vaccine trials in Burkina Faso to the ongoing political crisis and the attendant violence in Somalia. Other news feature is the increased insecurity in Chad, the Sahel, and the entirety of the West African region following the sudden death of President Deby of Chad.
The episode also features special dedication to students and educators in our listening area as the unique 2020-2021 school year ends. Additionally, the episode celebrates the resilience of the students, faculty and staff associated with the African Studies Institute at the University of Georgia.
