African Perspectives for October 10, 2021

This second episode in October is an acknowledgement of the wonderful roles that music and musicians have been having in the World, especially during the last twenty months of global health crisis. The episode features a special focus on the career and music of three superstars of African music and even what is commonly known as World Music.

The three featured artists are the late Wes Madiko of Cameroon, Ismael Lo of Senegal and the group Tarika of Madagascar. The episode also features news updates from South Africa where COVID infections is falling as the number of vaccinated people is increasing and from Guinea where coup leader Colonel Mamady Doumbaya has been sworn in by the head of the Guinean Supreme court on Friday, October 1, 2021 as the new Interim President.

As always, the episode featured selected enjoyable music from Africa and/or by Africans including selections from our three featured African superstars: Wes Madiko of Cameroon, Ismael Lo of Senegal and the group Tarika from Madagascar.
