Athens StoryCorps:Bob Guy and Kathryn Birch

Bob Guy served in the Army for 27 years before changing gears to become a middle school teacher. Here, you’ll hear him tell his daughter Dr. Kathryn Birch about what he learned in those early years of teaching and how his students continued to teach him years later. StoryCorps Athens stories were recorded locally at the StoryCorps mobile booth at the Athens-Clarke County Library in the fall of 2018. StoryCorps is part of a national initiative to record and preserve the stories of everyday people. All of the interviews were produced locally by Morgan Frey.
