Bio-Inspired Design

With its 4.5 billion year head start on mankind, nature has developed some clever mechanisms for solving big problems. In this segment, host April Sorrow talks with Dr. Ramana Pidaparti, a professor and the associate dean for academic programs at the UGA College of Engineering, about the concept of Bio-Inspired Design. By combining biological concepts into engineering solutions, Dr. Pidaparti encourages undergraduate students to take inspiration from nature in order to discover novel approaches to problems that are more efficient, economical, and elegant.
