Clarke School Board to Fill District 4 Seat

The Clarke County Board of Education is seeking applicants to fill an open seat on the school board. The vacancy is in District 4, a seat held by Jared Bybee, who resigned last month. The new member will be selected by the members of the Board of Education, and will serve until the end of Bybee’s term on December 31, 2020. The seat will be on the ballot for voters next year.

District 4 covers portions of the Five Points neighborhood and extends south along Milledge Avenue. Students in District 4 attend Barnett Shoals and Barrow Elementary Schools, Clarke Middle and Hilsman Middle School, and Clarke Central and Cedar Shoals High Schools.

Applicants should live in the district, among other qualifications. Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest, a biographical sketch, and up to two signed letters of support. The deadline to submit is August 1. For more information, visit clarke.k12.ga.us.
