There are now more than 241-thousand confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Georgia, which is currently one of only two states with over 20% of their inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients. Of the 14,706 beds reported available in the state of Georgia, 3,456 of them, or roughly 24.11% are occupied by COVID-19 patients as of August 14th, according to data from the Department of Health and Human Services.
This rate is far above the national average, which sits at 8.16%. Nearly half of all states have less than 5% of all beds occupied by COVID 19 patients, and 47 states have less than 15%. All of this data collected and presented by the Department of Health and Human Services comes from the hospitals in Georgia that are currently reporting occupancy rates.
