The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services often contract with outside companies to handle the administrative task of processing claims and paying providers. Now, they say one of these contractors filed hundreds of thousands of Medicare claims incorrectly, and CMS is looking to recoup $55 million from Medicare providers in primarily Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee due to the error.
