Donald Trump Jr. Visits Athens Alongside Turning Point USA

Hundreds of Athens-area supporters and dissenters converged on the Classic Center Tuesday evening to hear speakers Donald Trump Jr., former FOX anchor Kimberly Guilfoyle, Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk and communications director Candace Owens.

Trump and his fellow panelists had plenty of comments regarding “the left.”

“Their platform is the opposite of what Donald Trump does. If Donald Trump tomorrow came out in favor of oxygen, the left would be against it,” Trump Jr. stated. “That’s how far they have gone. It’s a shame because this isn’t your grandfather’s Democratic party, and I saw that in what I call the ‘dark zone’ of the country—everywhere between New York and Malibu.”

The event was a stop on the Campus Clash tour by Turning Point USA. Former Fox News anchor and Trump supporter Guilfoyle also criticized the other side.

“Charlie [Kirk], they have no platform. Name one thing that they are for. They want to reverse all the incredible accomplishments that the president, this administration, and Congress has put forward,” Guilfoyle said. “There isn’t anything. They’re angry, they’re vindictive, they’re vicious. They try to destroy anyone who supports or aligns with the president, who is actually trying to get some work done in Washington for a change.”

Surprise speaker Brian Kemp kicked off the evening. He was met with cheers from supporters and boos from a smaller group of dissenters in attendance.

Trump urged the crowd to support Brian Kemp for governor and thanked them for attending.

“It took guts for you to be here. We thank you for coming out and being vocal about this,” Trump said.

An estimated 1,300 people attended the event.
