Empathy

Managers need to be empathetic to their subordinates, but only if those managers are women. This gender biased work expectation was revealed in research by Dr. Malissa Clark, Assistant Professor of Organizational Psychology in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. In this segment, host April Sorrow speaks to Dr. Clark about gender bias in the workforce and how women suffer a motherhood penalty for taking time off to have kids.
