Georgia Cases of COVID-19 Top 1500

There are now more than 15-hundred cases of coronavirus in the state. The Georgia Department of Public Health says there are 1,525 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday afternoon, with 473 people hospitalized and 48 deaths. Fulton County has 211 cases, Dougherty is now second with 156 cases, followed by DeKalb with 129 and Cobb with 115. Clarke County has 24 cases. Oconee County has seven, Barrow County has four, Madison County two and Jackson County one. 

The majority of the cases, 59% are in people age 18 to 59. Those 60 and older comprise 35% of the cases.

Commercial Labs have tested 7,280 people with 1,274 positive cases, while the GPHL has tested 1,646 and discovered 251 positive cases.

50% of the cases are female, 46% male and in 4%, the sex of the patient is unknown.

The Georgia Department of Public Health provides updated numbers twice daily at noon and 7 pm as part of the COVID-19 Daily Status Report.
