Georgia COVID-19 Numbers Among Highest

On Sunday, the White House Coronavirus Task Force voiced concerns that Georgia was not doing enough to combat the spread of Covid-19. They cited a “widespread and expanding community virus spread”, and recommended that a statewide mask mandate be put into effect.

In the previous 30 days, Georgia has seen 100,824 new reported cases of Coronavirus. 1,447 people have died in that time.  Adult ventilator capacity has increased, but availability continues to hover between 55-59%. The capacity of Critical Care beds have hovered between 84-87% use. At least 75% of General Inpatient Beds have been occupied daily. At least 46% capacity of ER beds were in use daily.

 

Today, the department of health reports that there are  3,320 new cases of Covid today and 35 deaths due to the virus. 237 people have been hospitalized today. The current totals for the state are  231,895 cases and 4,573 deaths. 

Clarke County reported a total of 2209 cases today, and 21 deaths. Barrow County has 1391 cases and 33 deaths. Jackson County has 1148 cases and 17 deaths. Madison County has 437 cases with seven deaths, Oconee County is reporting 464 cases and 15 deaths, while Oglethorpe has had 243 cases and seven deaths.
