April 22 to April 26 is Every Kid Healthy Week and recent research shows Georgia near the bottom of the list of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
Children’s health care costs are getting increasingly more expensive and the personal finance website WalletHub recently released its report on 2019’s Best and Worst States for Children’s Health care. Analyst Jill Gonzalez says Georgia came in at number 44.
Vermont was number one on the list, while Mississippi was dead last.
Analysts say Georgia fared better when it came to dental health, with a top ten finish at number seven on the list.
WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 33 key indicators of cost, quality and access to children’s health care. The data set ranges from share of children aged 0 to 17 years in excellent or very good health to pediatricians and family doctors per capita.
