Gov. Kemp to Hold Roundtable Discussion on COVID-19

Governor Brian Kemp is scheduled to hold a hospital roundtable discussion with hospital CEOs throughout Georgia Wednesday afternoon.

Kemp will provide an update on the state’s fight with COVID-19, hear what they are seeing on the ground in their facilities, and discuss plans for vaccine distribution in the coming weeks.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the Georgia Department of Public Health reported 424,929 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia and 8,798 confirmed deaths. Health officials are attributing an additional 717 probable deaths to the virus.

Locally, Athens-Clarke County is reporting 6,725 cases and 54 deaths. In Barrow County there are 3,260 cases and 54 deaths, Jackson County is reporting 3,213 cases and 51 deaths. In Madison County the numbers are 1,032 cases and 13 deaths, Oconee County reports 1,056 cases and 35 deaths, while Oglethorpe County is reporting 503 cases and 13 deaths.
