This weekend will be the last of the high school football regular season before playoffs begin

A number of high school football teams around Athens will be looking to close out their 2020 regular season on a high note.

Jefferson County and Madison County will be facing off tonight, as well as Athens Christian and Prince Avenue. Commerce, Winder-Barrow, Oglethorpe County, and Oconee County will all also be in action tonight.

Meanwhile Clarke Central and North Oconee will be off.

Speaking on the situation for undefeated Oconee County, Jonathan McGinty from Beyond the Trestle explained, “Oconee County is a top 3 team in the State. They get the right draw and their team is healthy, and there’s a chance they can bring home a state championship."
