Kemp Order Says Georgians 65 and Older No Longer Have to Shelter in Place

Governor Brian Kemp Issuing an Executive Order Thursday. Effective immediately, according to the “Empowering a Healthy Georgia” order, residents and visitors of Georgia who 65 and older are no longer required to shelter-in-place, unless they meet certain criteria. That list includes:

Those in nursing homes, long-term care facilities or similar group living situations; people with chronic lung disease, those with moderate to severe asthma., severe heart disease, the immunocompromised, the severely obese, and those with certain underlying medical conditions like diabetes, liver disease and chronic kidney disease.

Other changes as of June 16th: removing the limits on numbers of customers at restaurants, no limit on number in group sat theaters, and professional, college and high school sports teams can play but must follow must follow the rules and guidelines set by the leagues, conferences and associations.  In addition, live performance venues can open and conventions can be held as of July 1st.
