Local and State Power Crews Head Out to Assist in Power Restoration Efforts

Jackson EMC is releasing contractors to aid in Hurricane Laura restoration efforts. According to a release from the company, 50 contractors are available to help in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Most of the contractors will be assisting Sam Houston Electric Cooperative, located in Livingston, Texas. Sam Houston Electric Cooperative serves approximately 56,000 members in parts of 10 counties.  For more information, visit jacksonemc.com.

About 100 Georgia Power personnel are making their way to a staging location in Baton Rouge before heading to assignments in connection with Laura. The company has also cleared an additional 300 support personnel for the restoration process. For more information, visit www.GeorgiaPower.com.
