Lyndon House to Host 44th Juried Exhibition Reception

The Lyndon House Arts Center is kicking off its 44th Juried Exhibition this week.  Didi Dunphy is Program Manager at the Lyndon House Art Center. She explains the process.

“This is our anchor, full facility show, that is open to artists 18 years or older,” Dunphy said. “That’s the only requirement and is juried by a guest who comes from outside out area.”

This year the guest Juror is Lauren Haynes, the Curator of Contemporary Art Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville Arkansas.

“I believe that it’s very important for our local creative community to have their works looked at, viewed, considered, by professionals in our field outside our Athens area; as it gives a perspective of professional development. The show also produces a beautiful full colored catalogue.”

Haynes spent two days in Athens sorting through more than 700 entries from 309 artists. 130 local a rtists are taking part in the exhibition, which features 160 works of art.
