More Than 1200 Cases of COVID-19 in Georgia.

The latest figures from the Georgia Department of Public Health show the state now has 1,247 cases of COVID-19, with 394 people hospitalized and 40 deaths. Athens-Clarke County has 19 confirmed cases. Oconee County has five, Barrow County two, and Madison and Jackson counties each have one case.

Fulton county continues to leads the state with 198 cases, with DeKalb having 116, Dougherty, 109 and Cobb County also in the triple digits with 101 cases.

To date, the health department has tested nearly 1,487 people, while commercial labs have tested 4,697.

The majority of state’s cases of COVID-19, some 60%, are in people aged 18 to 59, with 35% in those age 60 or older.
