Hundreds of members of the University of Georgia community took part in Operation Safe Drive this year. The annual event provides free vehicle inspections before students, staff, and faculty hit the road for Thanksgiving.
Operations Manager for Transportation and Parking Services Blaine Van Note said they added precautions instead of canceling the popular service.
“We’re social distancing, we’re doing everything we can, we’ve done this for 12 years now to make sure that people get home safe. We did about 330 last year, and I know we did over 300 today.
The UGA Office of Sustainability and Bike Athens provided bike inspections and tune-ups.
