Project Safe Launches New Awareness Campaign

Project Safe Facebook

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Project Safe is launching a new campaign celebrating all kinds of positive relationships. The organization’s Executive Director Joan Prittie explains how the 'Who Are You Thinking Of?'  campaign works and how it provides community members an opportunity to assist others.

“You know, we've had to cancel, like so many other nonprofits, our big gatherings like the Athens Dancing with the Stars in the Spring, and Groovy Nights, our lip sync battle in August. We have this campaign called ‘Who Are You Thinking Of?’, and what we're asking is for people to think of a loving relationship, a positive relationship in their life, and then think of a number that is symbolic to that relationship, and we’re asking people to donate that number, monthly or quarterly, to Project Safe.”

Prittie says pandemic or not, Project Safe is always open for those needing help.

“Project Safe is here, we've never closed, we never closed during the pandemic, and we will always stay open as long as there is a need for our services and people are hurting in their relationships and in their home, so we want people to know that we're here, to know that we are always just a phone call or a text away.”

People needing help can also walk-in for assistance.
