The University of Georgia's Health Center received its first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

This morning, the University of Georgia announced that the health center began offering its first COVID-19 vaccinations from both Pfizer and Moderna during the Winter Break. The health center is administering the limited supply of vaccines in accordance with the phased approach developed by the Centers for Disease Control and the Georgia Department of Public Health.

According to the announcement, there is no set schedule for receiving more doses, but UGA anticipates that they will obtain regular shipments soon. Additional information will be released when it becomes available. In the meantime, individuals can take advantage of UGA's expanded surveillance testing from now until January 22nd, where up to 1,500 free tests are available per day at Legion Field and other pop-up locations. Individuals are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance if they plan to get tested at Legion Field, but pre-registration is not required for pop-up saliva testing.

To schedule an appointment at Legion Field, call 706 542 1162.
