UGA Hosting Operation Safe Drive 2020

The University of Georgia is continuing a pre-Thanksgiving tradition before community members head out on the road.

Students, faculty and staff are being offered free vehicle inspections at the Tate Center Parking Deck during Transportation and Parking Services Annual Operation Safe Drive event. Mechanics will top off fluids, check belts and wiper blades, pressurized tires and do a quick visual inspection.

While the pandemic is not canceling the holiday tradition, the event will be contactless with drivers staying in their vehicles to ensure social distancing.

The UGA Office of Sustainability and Bike Athens will also be on hand to provide free bike safety inspections and tune-ups.

The inspection takes place from 10 am until 2 pm Tuesday, November 24th.

Pop-up Surveillance Testing will also be available during Operation Safe Drive for all participants. You must bring your UGA ID and you should not eat, drink or smoke/chew tobacco 30 minutes before you test.
